Memories from Dave

I have such fond memories of your Terry. I talked to him at length about RVs and camper  and i really valued him opinion never afford one of the Burstner ones he and your mum would get.

Terry always had some kind of project he was doing and, when Faye, the kids and I would arrive, I would take genuine joy in going to find him on the garage and asking him what he was up to at that moment in time.

And then there our board game evenings. No matter how hard anyone would try, we couldn't get him to play. There he'd sit in the corner in his chair, watching and enjoying us all bickering when someone misinterpreted the rules or had a bad round. I don't think he necessarily understood the rules to the games but that didn't matter. It was the happiness in his eyes that he was surrounded by family and we were behaving as families do: a mixture of enjoyment and playful banter.

Another memory of Terry was when Chris, Ian and I were drinking your dad's Drambuie. I (and I'm sticking to this version of events) had a couple and then went to bed, leaving Chris and Ian continuing their joviality. The following day your dad noticed that somebody had placed the empty bottle back in the bar and Chris, Ian and I blended each other. Seeing your dad with a mix of emotions: disappointed that the bottle was finished but not put in the bin, along with him chuckling at the shenanigans of us blokes blaming each other is a memory that comes back every time I have a wee dram. 🥰
